Super MilkMen tour featured in Taipei Times

Today the Super MilkMen mini-tour of Taiwan starts, this evening they are hitting up Vu in Taipei and then Saturday night they will be audibly destroying crowds in Bliss. If your in Taipei head down to one of the dates for a taste of milk. An interview with them, which includes a rather fetching photo I took of the pair, was printed in the Taipei Times this morning. It’s a very good article, have a read of the Article and give the tunes a spin aswell supermilkmen.com. Smash it hard boys, real hard x

Tea Jazz Time Club

The Jazz Club are a bunch of very special old school friends from Flitwick with a lot of love bundled within. We have now all gone our separate ways from Manchester to London, though the other day our travels through time merged into one for a period. We were all in Flitwick, it was a glorious day filled with beer, tea and cakes.

Twinkle Twinkle Crimbo Lights

Christmas is one of my favourite times of year for many reasons. The lights people decorate there houses with bring a sense of warmth and joy to the biting chill of winter.

Me and my boy Charlie went out a few months ago to photograph houses in Flitwick with Christmas lights. There’s such a wide range, those with subtle lights and then those that constantly remind you that it definitely is christmas time.

Ghosts at Flitwick Manor

While photographing Flitwick Manor I came across some unexplainable photographs I had taken. There have been many reports of ghosts at Flitwick Manor, coupled with the history this place has these claims sound rather believable. You can find out more about the history by watching this episode of Strange But True.

I was walking through the car park at 7am and noticed the gorgeous red sky so I got my camera out, I had the flash on to light up the building. When i looked at the screen I thought my lens was fogged so i took a few more to check, but as you can see, the smoke like substance has moved. No one else was with or even near me at the time and I couldn’t see any smoke or fog around me. With the sudden drop in temperature I was starting to freak out. After I dashed inside and looked closer at the photos I saw that on the second and third photos a perfect circle had formed. Smoke doesn’t come in circles, its whispy. So what is it?

The fourth photo was taken in the lounge, as with the first one I didn’t see anything while taking the photo. I’ve been told that the white objects are orbs. Sometime last year at around 3am on a summers morning the night porter noticed the door in the lounge that leads to the gardens was open. ‘I didn’t close it properly’ he thought to himself. Twenty minutes later he came back into the lounge and the door was open again. Upon stepping into the lounge a glowing white object floated through the door and headed towards the fireplace. Here it proceeded to circle around a chair while continually disappearing and reappearing from behind the mirror. Taken this all in his stride the night porter just stood still and watched, as the floating orb sat on the head of the chair for a couple of minutes before floating back through the door into the abyss of the night.

None of these photographs have been through photoshop, I still have the original raw files from my D90 to proof that these have not been edited. If anyone has any thoughts that may explain these bizarre photos then please comment below.

Kiki and Bertie

Yesterday me and Diccon accomplished the daunting task of clearing out his huge loft to create a studio space. Pictures of that coming soon as I’l be back in there again today, I love it in there, its dark, gritty, out of the way and the perfect place to get creative.

Diccon has the most gorgeous dogs, Kiki and Bertie. There really fun but never stay still. Watching diccon chase Kiki around the living room and kitchen trying to get him to go outside, Kiki was loving it.

Flitwick Manor

I was recently asked to photograph Menzies Flitwick Manor for there new brochures and advertisements. I’ve got two more rooms to finish but thought I’d give you all a sneek peek.

I wanted to light the hotel so when you look at the photos it’s as if your actualy standing in the hotel itself. This is why all the photos are in panoramic and have a very rich colour pallete.

Reebok Lounge Shoot

Just got back from the Reebok Lounge in shoreditch where I was doing a photoshoot for Super MilkMen.

The lights we’d sorted got cancelled on us and we were too broke to spank 200 sheet on hire charges. All was fine though as we had the important stuff on lockdown, Joes never ending supply of Valium and Diccons natural ability to throw shapes.

I’ve edited the two photos below as these have been sent off to the Taipei Times to go along with the interview they did earlier this week. Will edit and upload the rest sometime next week.

Super MilkMen Flyer

Two people I’m working with here at BandPie have started making music together. Super MilkMen is the love child of Diccon Mayfield aka.Dicqwon Le Chef and Joseph Shell aka. Ghostmen.

Off only two tracks they’ve managed to pull a Taiwan tour out of there arses, so they asked me to make a flyer to celebrate these happy days.

If your in taiwan at the end of march you should definetly check them out, there live show will be a dirty bassey feast for the ears.
